Come Follow Me 2025, Free primary printable's and object lessons, Primary lesson helps, Joseph Smith, Heavens are open, President Nelson Testifies of...2025 reading schedule, countdown

Here are a couple of Free prints before I get into the lesson.

2025 Free Reading calendar and Count down

Download the countdowns/ calendars HERE, they are in a zipped file.

I have some small ones, 2 to a page.

For younger students complete the picture and ask the students if they know who this person is. Use it as a introduction to teach your lesson.

For older students encourage them to say something that they know about Joseph Smith before placing their piece.

Ideas for Teaching Children

“We solemnly proclaim.”

  • As you read parts of the Restoration proclamation with your children (or watch the video of President Nelson reading it), help them find sentences that begin with phrases like “we proclaim,” “we declare,” or “we testify.” What truths are our prophets and apostles declaring? Perhaps you and your children could share your own testimonies of some of these same truths.

For older students: a matching game to help review some things that the Prophet has taught in the video. Or you can pass the cards out and have the students hold them up when they hear the prophet say those words.

(Print two on card stock for matching game)

For Younger Students: You can put the cards in the the tissue box with the tissue box printable of the prophet. When they draw out a cards you can ask them to tell the class what the picture is, and teach them according to their age what the prophet says.

Getting to know you, 2 coloring pages and two gift tags, I am a child of God

If you just want to purchase the gift tags separately, you can do that below.

Mitzi from comefollowmekid.com created this book. I help a little bit with the art. It's great from anyone that doesn't have a printer.

“Joseph Smith … had questions.”

  • It might be interesting to your children to explore some of the questions Joseph Smith had that led to the Restoration of the Savior’s gospel. Help them find some examples in Joseph Smith—History 1:10, 29, 68. How are we blessed today because God answered Joseph Smith’s questions?

For older students watch this video (It is for youth, but you get the idea):

“Heavenly messengers came to instruct Joseph.”

  • Who were the “heavenly messengers [who] came to instruct Joseph”? Your children might enjoy looking for pictures of them in the Gospel Art Book (see nos. 91, 93, 94, 95). How did each of these messengers help “re-establish the Church of Jesus Christ”? The scriptures suggested in this week’s activity page can help your children answer this question.

For younger students.

This was in last weeks lesson, but it would be really good to show it again, remind the students who Angel Moroni is and his part in protecting the golden plates. Music is also great repeated. Click on the image to take you to the page to print it.

For older students I suggest doing a scripture match up like they do on the activity page, but do it really big, on your board together like this:

Jesus Christ has restored His Church.

  • How might you help your children understand what it means for the Savior’s Church to be restored? Maybe they could build a simple tower with blocks or cups and “restore,” or rebuild, it. Or, if your children have ever had to replace something because it was lost or damaged, you could compare that experience to the Savior restoring His Church. Help them find specific things mentioned in the Restoration proclamation that the Savior restored.

“The heavens are open.”

  • To illustrate what the phrase “the heavens are open” means, maybe you could share a message with your children, first behind a closed door and then through an open door. Let them take turns sharing a message too. What messages does Jesus Christ have for us? What experiences have helped us know that the heavens are open to us?

I have this idea of getting a box, mine is just a leftover box from Christmas. You can print the "heaven" at the bottom.

Fill it with these pictures:

When you are with the students take the closed box and shack it above the the students head and say something like "God is trying to send you revelation, but what is wrong why won't any come out?"

The kids will tell you that the box is closed(: Explain that after Jesus Christ death the gospel was taken from the Earth and the Heavens were closed. Then show a picture of Joseph Smith seeing Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

That was the first day the Heavens were opened again and they have been open ever since that day. Then open the box and pour out the pictures on the students. Look at the pictures together and discuss how we are blessed with these things in our church today.

I just found this blog!!! What a life saver!!! When it is the zip drive, and I download it, I can't ever open it. Has anybody else had any problems with these? I am SOO SOOO SOOO grateful for all of your hard work. I have been a REALLY big slacker with teaching my 5 year old. Her primary hasn't done a single thing for her since March and I have only been doing a little bit, I am not very creative, but need to do stuff with her to teach her so THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH for doing this!!

Thank you so much for these lessons and activities. I break them up and use them daily for our family devotional. Then I pick one for my sunbeams and email it to them with a short video. I'm so grateful for all your effort and time! You are a blessing.
