Dec 8-14, 2 Free Prints, LDS youth lessons, Young Me and Young Women, Come Follow Me

I usually give free Prints and ideas at the beginning of the lesson. This time it is at the end, in the second part of the lesson.

The Articles of Faith contain foundational truths of the restored gospel.

Consider this approach to studying the Articles of Faith: For each article of faith, make a “mini-lesson” to explain what you believe. Your mini-lesson could include a related scripture, picture, hymn or children’s song, or personal experience about living a truth that the article of faith teaches.

Have your youth teach these mini-lessons!

In this week's lesson, I have "mini-lesson" sets. You can have the youth pick an Article of Faith to teach. Give them 5 minutes to look over the material, answer the questions, and write down what they want to share. Then give each of them a turn to teach about the Article of Faith they selected. If you DON'T think 13 students will attend your class, just pick the Articles of Faith you would like to print and have your youth focus on those (still let them pick from those). If it were me, I would remove AoF one, because you know that is the one everyone will want it(; But use your own inspiration. All articles of Faith will be covered if you play the sorting game (second part of this lesson). So don't stress about them not learning everything now.

Here is a sample of what a "mini-lesson" set will look like. If you are good at printing, you can print them on both sides of 1 cardstock. So the youth can first hold up the article of faith, have everyone read it, and then teach, while referring to their notes on the back.

They are available in black and white.

I did not include these questions in the mini-lesson sets. I would be good for you to ask them at the end of this study/presentation.

What difference do these truths make in your relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? How have the Articles of Faith improved your gospel study or helped you share the gospel with others?

Next, I have a sorting activity you can do together as a class. It will look like this at the beginning; read L. Tom Perry's quotes that go in each category.

There are cards like this that are pieces of the doctrine of our gospel. You can put these in a bowl or a bag and pass them around so the youth can pick them out, discuss them, and decide which article of faith best supports.

These ones would fit under 5and6.

It will look like this when finished:

Putting this lesson together has helped me see how inspired the Articles of Faith are. I can't believe it came about because of a well-thought-out letter written by Joseph Smith. Chapter 38: The Wentworth Letter,” in Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith (2011), 435–47.

It just confirms what I already knew to be true. That Joseph Smith truly is a prophet of God. You can close with your own personal testimony.

This is ALL included in my lesson bundle, in my store at the bottom of the page.

Your youth may need this printable to help them with this sorting activity.

This is a Free Print.

The Church of Jesus Christ is guided by revelation.

“We believe that [God] will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God” (Articles of Faith 1:9). With this principle in mind, review Official Declarations 1 and 2, and look for words and phrases that strengthen your faith in continuing revelation. How have these revelations affected your life? How have they helped the work of Heavenly Father’s kingdom progress?

I am giving this printable for free. If you did buy the lesson help, it is already included.

There are also these free puzzles in my primary section. You are welcome to them; just click the image to go there.

What evidence do you see that the Church is led “by the inspiration of Almighty God” today? (Official Declaration 1). Perhaps you could review one or more recent general conference messages, looking for how the Lord is guiding His Church—and your life. The most recent message from the President of the Church may be a good place to start.

What can you do if you or someone you love struggles to understand or accept what the Lord teaches through His prophets? Why are you grateful for a prophet?

I would alter this for the youth, but all you need to do is cut off the bottom instructions when you cut out these gift tags. Since most youth have passed these off. These are already included in the lesson bundle. But you can purchase it separately by clicking on the image.
