Young Men and Young Women 25 min lesson, 2nd and 3rd weeks

We received training on the 25-minute Come, Follow Me YM & YW lessons.

Here is the breakdown:

So, for the very first lesson, you will be going over the First chapter of the FSY guide.

This isn't something I can write a lesson plan for and still follow the church guidelines.

Here is what it looks like:

It is here for you to print, but I recommend using the booklet given to you and using actual scriptures instead of your phone.

Open Chapter 9 → choose one of the Eternal Truths → discuss it → use the supporting scriptures at the end of the chapter → share experiences/testimony → choose an invitation. And then do it again if you have more time. On repeat.

For September, examples of the eternal truths include priesthood keys and authority coming from Jesus Christ, Christ restoring His priesthood in our day, and priesthood authority blessing all of God’s children.

The Fast Sunday discussion can help you with your 4th Sunday lesson. We will not just be learning about another scripture hero! Hopefully we can apply the Eternal Truths and scriptures we learned in the first week, bringing the lessons full circle. I hope to offer ideas for the 4th Sunday lesson without taking away from what you might have discussed in your class.

I have loads of ideas to help teach the 2nd- and 3rd-Sunday lessons in a creative, interactive way. I hope you and I can walk through this amazing new curriculum together.

Here is a sample of the 2nd- and 3rd-Sunday lessons combined into one bundle. Whatever you don't cover one week can be covered the next week.

I also have a fun packet that helps make the monthly activities more engaging.

Sunday School

Here is this week's free Sunday School print. Sorry YW&YM gets all the attention this week. You really are my favorite; I hope to grow old teaching youth Sunday School... someday(:

Here is the second page of my lesson plan. It's not everything, but it does explain the free print.

If you don't want to purchase this week's lesson, it might be fun for the youth to draw the path described in the scriptures. Bring blank paper.

OR bring a large sheet of butcher paper and roll it out on the floor; draw one long path. I would start with Matthew 7:13–14

Then have all the other youth add things to the path, adding curvy paths to the side of that path, drawing a gate, a dove for the holy Ghost, etc. Until you have a very visual idea of what the path to eternal life looks like.
