Come Follow Me (Sept 30-Oct 13) "For the Perfecting of the Saints"
Updated: Sep 26, 2019

Let's start from the very beginning....a very good place to start.(:
Come Follow Me- For Primary pg. 153 ""Find pictures of children from different parts of the world, and hide them around the room. Place a picture of the Savior in the front of the room. Invite your class to pair up like missionaries and take turns finding a picture of a "stranger" to place near the picture of the Savior. Help them understand that when people are baptized, they become part of the church family, or the "household of God." How can we help someone who is new feel welcome?"

Last weeks song is good for this too with the "strangers" and "fellow citizens" from Ephesians 2:19

Come Follow Me-For Primary page 154 "Read Ephesians 6:1 to the class, or help one of the children read it. Ask them to role-play times when they obeyed their parents. What might have happened if they hadn't obeyed?
Here are some puppets to help role-play that. For scenarios go to scrafty.com/2018/12/10/come-follow-me-2019-lesson-plans/

This lesson is mostly about the Armor of God, and there are a zillion resource out there for that. But, surprisingly no one has actually made an Armor that a child can wear. So I did(:

The Primary Manuel actually suggests bringing items to class that could represent the pieces of armor, like a hat or an apron. If you don't want to print everything off, you can do that, or just print a couple of things off of the things you don't have items for. Also it still looks really good in Black and white, if you don't want to use all your printing ink.

After you print it, if it is too big, you can easily adjust the size by just cutting more of the middle off, and then taping it together.

Here is a great video, with actual sword fighting, and Paul talking about the Armor of God.

This is from the New Era, and it wouldn't be too hard to simplify for children. I made a printable copy for you, because it is so helpful if teaching this. As you are dressing the child or doing the activity from the Primary Manual you can read this as you add each item.

Here is the link to the New Era talk:

Here is a coloring page from the gospel library, could also be used as a play-dough mat.

For older children that don't dig dressing up... here is a game they can play that will help teach the "Armor of God."

Mitzi came up with a fun activity from the focus scripture of Ephesians 1:10. The directions are on her website emiscrafty.com/2018/12/10/come-follow-me-2019-lesson-plans/
Here is the printable that I created.

It's a really simple, but powerful week. I'm grateful it's a simple week because my daughter is getting baptized this Saturday....YAY!
God bless you in your study of the gospel!
