Come Follow Me, Jan 13-19, 1 Nephi 8-10, "Come and Partake of the Fruit"
Updated: Jan 9, 2020

Come Follow Me-For Primary page 9 “Invite the children to help you tell the story of Lehi’s vision from 1 Nephi 8:10-34”
Here is something hands on that can help tell the story:

When you assemble this, you will notice that the mist of darkness is bigger than the box provided, because it has to bend so that Lehi can fit under it.

When my daughter was playing with this, we found it was just easier to untie the back and let her pull the string on each side. We had a great discussion about all the things in the picture, I absolutely love these teaching moments.

Come Follow Me- For Primary page 9 "The word of God leads me to God and helps me feel His love. ...Make sure the children know that the rod of iron represents God’s word, which we read in the scriptures and hear from living prophets.”
Here are some tags that Mitzi from Comefollowmekid helped me make. For those of you at home, she has fabulous lesson helps to help teach children.
Slide them on to a jump rope or yarn, that represent the iron rod. As the children progress along the rope, they (or you) can read each tag.

There is even a blank one if you have something you would like to add...or take away, you don't have to use all the tags, especially if you have very small children.

Come Follow Me For Primary page 9 “...lead them around the room to a picture of a tree....show that the tree represents God’s love, you can display pictures of things God has given us that show His love for us, such as the Savior, our families and the beautiful world.”

"Read 1 Nephi 8:12, and invite the children to listen carefully for what Lehi wanted to do after he tasted the fruit....Let the children take turns pretending to be Lehi inviting others to come and partake of the fruit."

"Read Nephi 10:19"
For Younger Children:
Place these on 4 corners or walls of a room, review them before, if kids don’t know how to read. As you read this scripture, and you say one of these words, the kids move to that wall. If you want to get your kids moving, read it a couple of times(:

For older children:
Since this is a scripture about hiding, it would be fun to hide the words around the room. Encourage the children to look up the scripture to figure out where the words go. Discuss the scripture after it is all put together.

"Sing a song with the children about seeking truth, such as "Search, Ponder, and Pray" children's song book 109"
Here is a interactive primary song:

"Consider sharing an experience when the Holy Ghost helped you know something is true."
