Come Follow Me, December 23-29 "He That Overcometh Shall Inherit All Things"
Updated: Dec 20, 2019
Come Follow Me - For Primary page 197 “To help the children understand what it means to follow someone’s example, choose one child to be a ”leader,” and ask others to follow him or her by doing whatever he or she does, then let other children be the leader."
Here is a leader's hat, if you want to make things more fun.
Come Follow Me -For Primary page 197 "Sing a song together about the premortal life, such as "I lived in Heaven."
I think this is my new favorite interactive song. When I did it with my little girls they asked a lot of questions, great teaching moments and turned out so cute!
Come Follow Me- For Primary page 197 "How can you help the children understand that the second coming will be a joyful event for us if we follow Jesus's commandments?"
"Share with the children why you are looking forward to Jesus's second coming. You could also sing together a song about the second coming"
Come Follow Me-For Primary page 198 “Invite the children to share what they do to get ready for church on Sunday. Why do we do these things before we come to church? Why should we prepare for Christ Second Coming?”
Come Follow Me- For Primary page 198 "Let the children draw the tree described in Revelations 22:2 on the board. Explain that this tree is the tree of life, and its fruit represents the love of God (see 1 Nephi 11:21-22)."
If you still want to hand out the fruit shaped papers for the kids to write "what helps them feel Heavenly Father's love" on, you can just use this printable as a buffer, to help give them some ideas. I left the fruit white on purpose(:
For olderish(: children:
I like the idea that the manual gives of drawing a big tree on the board, and then you could tape the children's fruit on it, so they can see everyone's drawings and ideas. They could even take turn explaining what their drawing means.
Sorry it's only in color.
Come Follow Me For -Primary page 198 “Read together Revelations 12:7-11, and write on the board the words......ask the children to summarize these verses using the words on the board.”
Here is a great video about the war in heaven, it's mostly conference messages, not very kid friendly, but maybe you can watch it to help educate you.
Here is a teaching help for those hard to understand verses.
For additional lesson plans:
It's not quite Christmas as I wrap this up, but by the time you read this, it will almost be New Years. I hope you have a great New Years!
