Come follow Me 2020, February 3-9, 2 Nephi -5
Updated: Feb 13, 2020

Come Follow Me For Primary page 21 "Ask the children to help you define the word commandments and make a list of commandments. Read 2 Nephi 1:20, and emphasize that we will "prosper"or be blessed when we keep the commandments."
Here is a ten commandment memory game, maybe after every match made talk about the blessings we receive when we keep that commandment.

Come Follow Me-For Primary page 21 "Show the children things that offer protection...tell them that Heavenly Father's commandments can protect us from spiritual danger.
Attach these to a helmet and something hard, like a can of food, or a rock. Have someone try on the helmet, and knock the hard thing against the helmet...not too hard, (just have an adult do this). Ask the child wearing the helmet if they felt protected. What are some spiritual dangers? How do the commandments protect us?

Share an experience when you were protected by following the commandments.
Here is a story about a boy who is protected because he wore a helmet when riding his bike and got hit by a car.
Here is a video about a net that protected some surfers from sharks:

Come follow Me- for Primary page 21 "Because of their choices, Adam and Eve had to leave the Garden of Eden. How can you teach the children that Adam and Eve's choice allows us our agency to choose Heavenly Father today?
May want to point out that it is through the atonement, or Savior that we find that Joy.
Here is a small motor activity that they can do while they learn a scripture.

Come Follow Me- For Primary page 22 "Review with the children the story of Adam and Eve."
Here are some figures that can be cut out to help tell the story.

For older Children
Come Follow Me- For Primary page 23 “Read 2 Nephi 2:22-27. Explain that because of Adam and Eve’s choice, we are blessed to come to earth and use our agency to make good choices and repent through Christ’s Atonement.”
You can use this printable in two ways. Have the kids trace the path to see what the correct answer is.

or cut out the pieces and teach with them.

I get to teach a "sharing time" except it's not called that anymore. I'm going to send this to my local copy center and blow it up a bit bigger. Cut out the pieces and put them under the children's chair, then have two jars like the ones above, for the children to match the answers to.

Play a game in which you say a word (such as light) and the children say it's opposite (dark). Repeat this activity several times.

Come Follow Me- For Primary page 22 "Tell the children stories about a child who is tempted to make a wrong choice..."
Here is a good one from the friend:

Sing a song together about making choices, such as "I'm trying to be like Jesus" or "Choose the Right Way" (CSB 78-79, 160-61), ask the children what they learn from the song about making choices.

For Older children
Come Follow Me- For Primary page 22 “Write phrases from 2 Nephi 1:20 on strips of paper, and discuss what the phrases mean. Invite the children to put the strips in the correct order using the verse.

Come Follow Me- for Primary page 23 "Invite the children to search 2 Nephi 3:6-24 for clues about which prophet is being spoken of. List the clues on the board. Why is Joseph Smith called a "choice seer"? What did Joesph smith do that is "of great worth to his brethren?"
Are you thinking what I'm thinking? (: This is prefect to lead into the Prophets invitation about the Restoration.
